Meet Mary Jo Dreffs

Mary Jo Dreffs is this month’s Meet our Member. Mary Jo not only teaches second grade in Wayne-Westland Community Schools at Vandenburg Elementary School, but she is also a graduate of Wayne Memorial High School. She has been active on many school and district level committees. Mary Jo was part of the Service Project committee that began our involvement with the Family Center.

Mary Jo was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma in 1991. Not one to sit around, Mary Jo jumped in and got involved immediately. She has been active on many chapter committees and is currently on the Professional Affairs Committee and is one of our Historians.

Mary Jo and her husband, who is a kindergarten teacher in South Lyon, have lived there for the past ten years. She really loves the small town atmosphere of South Lyon. Mary Jo and her husband will be celebrating their twenty-fifth anniversary this August! They have two sons. Neil is sixteen and Brandon is fourteen.

When not working, Mary Jo enjoys golfing, bowling, and reading (preferably in a warm, sunny place). She also enjoys her involvement in Delta Kappa Gamma. "I enjoy celebrating women in education, meeting new people, and doing special projects to help others."
