MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
One of our biennium objectives, as stated at the Alpha Iota State (Michigan) Strategic Planning workshop in the area of membership is to secure and maintain an active, involved membership. The state organization will:
- encourage chapters to initiate new members at least once a year,
- share strategies to help chapters reach out to potential members, orient, retain, and re-activate all members,
- Continue to recognize chapters with growth rates of 10% or more AND chapters bringing in members from schools or levels previously not represented or underrepresented, and
- Research current membership statistics to share with members and chapters.
International President Dr. Paula Dent states that we should aim for these goals for our chapter:
- 10%… new initiates
- 95%… retain present membership
- 10%… reclaim members who have dropped out
This year we are asking you to seek out interested colleagues and present them to our chapter for membership this January. Included with the bulletin is the Recommendation for Membership form needed in order to present a new member. Bring the completed form to our January meeting. Gamma Alpha needs your support.
