SERVICE PROJECT REPORT

Last month's meeting had a great turnout. Twenty-four members met at Red Lobster and met Alpha Iota State-Michigan President Eileen Rodak. Eileen said that she was happy she was not "the program" for the evening but was happy to answer anyone questions we had about Delta Kappa Gamma at the State level.

Before dinner, Nicole Harry (Housing Coordinator) and Joyce Shain (Resource/Activity Coordinator) spoke to Gamma Alpha about the history of the Wayne County Family Center and the services they provide for the residents.

After dinner, many of the members took the "field trip" to the Center and helped the children and parents decorate fall sweatshirts with painted leaves that were stamped onto the fabric. Forty-eight sweatshirts were made that evening. We left ten unpainted shirts at the Center and the materials if others want to do the project.

We received a letter from the Center after our project.

The staff and residents of the Wayne County Family Center wish to thank your group for giving us the opportunity to speak at your October meeting. It was a delightful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the company of a great group of ladies.

We wish also to thank you for the sweatshirts and the time you took to do this activity with our residents as they thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It is groups such as yours that make our job here at the Center a much easier task. Your being at the Center was a wonderful experience for our residents and for that we are grateful.

The Halloween costumes are wonderful. We'll have the best dressed kids in the neighborhood. Your kindness is touching and overwhelming. We wish the best of the best to each and every member of your group.

Sincerely,

Susan Usher, Center Administrator
Nicole Harry, Housing Coordinator
Joyce Shain, Resource/Activity Coordinator
