FRIEND OF EDUCATION

The Friend of Education Award was developed by State President Sharleen Gonzales during the 1994-1995 year of her biennium. The intent of this award is to give recognition to individuals and groups that have an ongoing presence in the community in their support of education. Awards are given to people who are not currently working the education. People in elected office cannot be recognized, as it would seem like supporting a political candidate- which is against our charter as a non-profit organization. After they have left office, they might be considered.

Awards have been presented to individuals who represent the following fields:

If you have someone you would like to recognize as a Friend of Education, please inform Alice Duke.
