Gamma Alpha Bulletin

Vol 19 No 6. April 1999

President's Message
"Get Smart"

Gamma Alpha met three key women teachers interested in joining our chapter in March. Our fourth prospective member withdrew because of family illness. I’m sure that after the Readers Theater presentation of "My Name is Annie", Joan Murray, Andrea Griffin and Johnnye Summerville can hardly wait to be initiated into Gamma Alpha and wonder if they really need to run out and buy a hat and gloves for the meetings! On April 21st, we will be celebrating the 20th Birthday of our chapter. The Birthday Committee has some surprises in store, so it should be a fun evening.

Esther Loskowske found this tidbit to finish the newsletter.

If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can resist complaining and boring other people with your troubles,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can overlook it when something goes wrong through no fault of yours and those you love take it out on you,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can ignore a friend’s limited education and never correct him,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics,
Then my friend, you are almost as good as your dog.
