President’s Report:

Jackie mailed annual reports to committee chairmen to be filled out.

Checks were sent to World Fellowship ($250.00) and the Education Foundation ($100.00)

Notes from Susan England and Jennifer Medvecky, two of the four recipients of Gamma Alpha’s $25 gift certificate for new teachers at The teacher’s Store, thanking us.

Thank you letter and phone call from the director of Wayne County Family Center for the October Service project.

Thank you note from Meghan Palk, Grant-in-Aid recipient, expressing how the money helped to pay for her books.

Reports:

January 20th meeting with Jennifer Granholm is all set. Thanks to Mary Foster for all her efforts coordinating with Gamma Gamma.

Esther sent a report about the Birthday Dinner. It will be held at Hawthorne Valley Country Club on April 5, 2000. Time is not finalized yet.

We talked about Easter Baskets and decided that we will be assembling them prior to the Birthday Dinner.

Talked about investigating an earlier starting time for our meetings (5:00 p.m.). Also other places to meet (Leather Bottle, Livonia) or the possibility of a different meeting place each time was discussed.

Notes:

The Executive Board compliments Colleen and Sandy on the great job that they did on the 1999-2000 Yearbook. There will be a page insert for the March Seminar now that plans are finalized.

Judi Fisher had a recent hysterectomy and is recuperating at home.

Selection of Chapter Woman of Distinction Chapter needs to be decided by the Personal Growth and Development Committee.

Board Meeting is tentatively scheduled for June 28 at the Burton Hollow Pool. Fran Saenz will make arrangements with the pool manager. Board Members and new chairmen should attend. Members interested in getting more involved in planning chapter activities should attend. Those wanting just to eat, get a little sun and swim should attend. The message is attend! Time to be announced.

Marie informed us that she belongs to a Networking system and has access to a family law attorney and other professional people who would be able to speak at future programs.
